Creativity

So... i feel that we are unwittingly ruining our nations future. simply because we are taking away kid's abilitys to imagine (not by force, like i said, unwittingly). I mean really, do you know what i played with when i was a kid?... and may i add thoroughly enjoyed, i played with stuffed animals a majority of the time, not the kind that talk, and are insanely high tech... the kind that do nothing but be. i also liked things like blanket and chair constructed castles, and fake food, and my backyard, and hulahoops, and tire swings... i had things that if not imagined with... they would be boring. have you seen the toys kids have these days?! they don't have to pretend they have a castle, they legitimately have plastic child size castles. they dont have to give there animals names and voices and lives... they just have to get on the internet for that and enter a number. and if i wanted a shopping cart to play with, i had to construct one out of boxes, etc. now i've seen a plastic child sized shopping cart, complete with tiny baby seat thing (that's great birth control, giving them a spot to put a baby by the time they're 4) sorry to rant, but we're taking away all the things i remember most about my childhood, and replacing them with cheap plastic substitutes, that take no imagination. with no need to imagine, why would we do it?, and if we're not imaginative with anything what are we going to be able to create?, i think in some areas simple is amazing... because some of my funnest times were in candy land... which in reality, was a dead garden patch. If god had no creativity, he wouldn't have ever even cared to put us here... if we're in the image of god i vote creativity.


Disclaimer: (haha) i'm not saying to not buy your kid anything modern, i'm just saying not to over do it. give gifts to your kids, that practically scream "be creative with me"... that's all.
